Pastor

Scott grew up in a small town in Western Colorado and lived a fairly typical American boy’s lifestyle. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with a bachelor’s degree in geography and then interned with the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C. Scott landed a job in Northern California as a cartographer (map maker) in 1991. While in California, he met a young woman, Nancy, who was a Christian.
Nancy immediately invited Scott to Bible Study and Church (Calvary Chapel Modesto) with her. Scott began reading the Bible and praying, but he wasn’t saved.
After about 5 months of this, all of my objections to Jesus were answered. I asked God to forgive me for all the horrible, ugly things that I’d ever done, he said. I asked Jesus to live in my heart. And the weight of all that sin that I’d been carrying for years was lifted. I was forgiven!
Scott and Nancy married and eventually moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. They continued to grow in their faith under the verse-by-verse Bible teaching at Rocky Mountain Calvary and began volunteering in various ministries, including teaching children.
In 1998 Scott started teaching Bible studies with workmates and later led a home Bible study group through the Gospel of Matthew.
It was my first experience teaching verse by verse and I was hooked, he said.
Scott found that promotions and raises were no longer motivating him. God was redirecting his life toward ministry.
In 2004, Scott and Nancy began praying about moving and starting a Calvary Chapel in Northern Colorado. Then Rocky Mountain Calvary invited Scott to join the pastoral staff and to preach the weekly Sunday night service. He taught through the Minor Prophets and the Gospel of Luke during that period.
Scott, Nancy and their three sons (Christian, Alex and Charlie) moved to Windsor in the summer 2006 to start Calvary Chapel Windsor.
It’s a privilege to be involved in what God is doing in Windsor, he said. We are excited to be here!
